27 Professional Pool Bridges Part #1 - Free Pool Lessons
Sophisticated humor based on a sophisticated movie, and the way Candy was channeling Jackie Gleason was just spooky. That was terrific. Now I need to go watch the original movie, I've never seen it.
I agree with most of this. The only thing is dont adjust ur aim point when ur missing. Figure out why ur hitting it wrong. Its probably a stroke defect or cut induced throw. If u just adjust ur aim ur perpetuating bas habits
No doubt that John Candy was a great comedian. He did some great work, but this was not one of them !! I found it rather boring. Just my opinion !!
A true Masterpiece!!! Clearly unprecedented suspense and drama, even greater than the original?? Epic film making, with Candy’s astute and multi-layeral interpretation of Minnesota Fats truly Shakespearean. Astonishing high art.
This is your idea of JC as "hilarious?" Watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and come back
for the slip stroke is it also okay to throw the cue forward? so the backhand is holding the cue until contact wherein the backhand let's go then regrips after contact. instead of sliding the backhand backwards
Are you from Waterloo IA?
Quad Cities. Bettendorf, IA
@@ZeroXBilliards Ok, right on! I was telling my father (Scott Kitto) that I found your videos helpful, that you do a great job explaining things. He said he knew you and that you are a very good player. Keep up the great work.
@@skitto6554 Glad my videos have helped! Tell your dad hi. Haven't talked to him since the 80s. Hope he is doing well. Appreciate you reaching out.
I don't know about hilarious, but fun to watch.
John Candy was great.
Hilarious? Oh, man... this was just plain DUMB!
Hey! One went in!!! 😂😂😂
Not very funny at all
Maybe you underestimate him though, he really is a math genius who can count angles easily, which is conscius.
Candy was a "fat man" like Gleason and Oliver Hardy- yes, fat but they moved with the grace of a ballet dancer. I had a friend in the Navy who was fat like that and moved with that grace. He got more women than Hefner.
That was fuckin brilliant! Cripes, I miss John Candy!
“Film noir” at its best!
John Candy was one of my favorite actors. I miss his sense of humor, it was the absolute best. Uncle Buck was a great movie and it was because of John Candy.
Stupid
The Hustler 1961. Paul Newman & Jackie Gleason will forever be a Classic.
I lost it when he scratched on making the 8-ball. OMG - too funny
Good video but Why do you say you are throwing the cue stick on a slip stroke when it clearly shows you are holding the cue stroking thru the cue ball on the strike not letting go which is like throwing a baseball as you let go. The slip doesn’t happen going forward thru the ball it happens when the hand slips back on the cue stick on the back stroke b4 you then stroke thru the ball holding onto the cue where it landed or gripped the cue after the slip back b4 the thru stoke. it should be called a back slip then stroke thru. When I’m playing my best I have a slip stroke or I should say a back slip on the back stroke. Ha. I even let go and throw it forward at times too. I guess that is the true slip stroke. Cheers.
Hi, yes, on shots that require soft speed the throw may not happen but on shots at medium speed or higher the cue slips through the fingers and the hand catches the cue at the butt end. This is how it was taught to me and is how I use it but players can develop their own style using this method.
Amazing hard work…Ty from the bottom of my heart…I’m a snooker player but learnt a lot from this video…Keep up the good work…👌
Is that Kevin Kline?
John Candy was kind of typecast but I think he could have been just as good or better in more serious roles.Robin Williams,Jackie Gleason and numerous comedians proved to be real good dramatic actors.
I have this on video from when the New Show originally aired and often tell people about this perfect parody. The first 3 minutes is an almost exact recreation of the original film, which sets it up perfectly. Love this.
if someone does the stroke drill should they hit center ball every time or low/center/high?
Excellent video my brother
‘HEY one went in!’ …. all the railbirds clap 😂
Where do you get that mat for doing the stroke training the one with the line on it?
SCTV with John Candy did all skits well! The whole premise of SCTV WAS STELLAR !
Great video. Thank you!
You are the best teacher on the internet. Thank you so much for your help and generosity.
Excelente vídeo tutorial....
lol worst pool hustlers ever,lolololol
Very cool. Thanks for the run down.
This is actually a Twilight Zone episode but, for SCTV.
Efren goat reyes 🎱
When I think of 80’s comedy movies I think of John Candy!
amazing work i like it
Omg, I have watched probably thousands of instructional videos over the last 17 years or so, whenever UA-cam started. This man is GENIUS. He explains everything so clearly, it all makes sense. I had to subscribe. I’m a good player, but I want to take my game to the next level and I’m sure his videos will do just that. I wish I could afford lessons from him, but these free lessons I think will benefit me a lot also. I wonder if this man ever shot professionally. He’s fantastic! I will be saving this video in my favorites and watch it over and over for years to come. This is the holy grail of instructional pool videos! ❤ Tor, you are amazing. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your vast knowledge of this wonderful game. 🥰
I like the idea of your system. As you explain it, it works. However, I have watched several demonstrations on bank shots, and using a diamond technique. Dr. Dave shows one that seemed to make more sense, at least to me, and seemed less complicated. His technique explained that wherever you start from is your zero. The diamonds go out in graduations of 10. I'm not saying yours is wrong, or that his is right. I'm just trying to learn angles better for my bank shots. I spot bowl, rather than pin bowl in bowling. I always hope to associate the pool table the same way. Thanks for this video.
What are you calling running english? Could you please explain that technique? Thanks in advance.
John Candy was SO brilliant!
Bar box pool then was harder than it is now. Now with the small cue balls and fast cloth it seems easy but then with that Slow cloth and that damn soft ball size cue ball made it a tough game. Lol you had to have a stroke to get that thing around.
I really miss my Uncle Buck.
Thank you!
Nicely done!
This is what I’ve been looking for probably the best training video I have seen
Do American dictionaries have a different definition for hilarious. ?
They play pool as well as i do.
